The United States is a very large country, which has been "invaded" by many immigrants, due to this, the country has many subcultures that vary from Latin American to African customs. In the case of New York, there are many Latin Americans who bring customs, dances and even recipes for certain foods, which have become more known in the USA. On the side of African migrants, dances can be observed as a tradition form of their history, as an educational means or even as a way to alleviate suffering, in addition certain holidays are celebrated like the day of the black race or the day of Martin Luther King.
In the case of white people in the United States, there is racism against the Chinese, Latinos and Africans present in the country, although today they are fighting to end racism, there are still people who are like that.
My name is Luis Carlos Lozano, i'm student of industrial engineering, i am in level 8 of english, I am doing this blog because is one project that i have in this course, one of my objetives is show you the perception that we have about the american's culture since Colombia. I'll try to break the stereotipcs that we have about the american people, like they love eat a lot of junk food, they are fat, they are racist, etc.

The Hofstede Model
The Hofstede Model, serves to identify the cultural patterns of each group, the discrepancies of behavior and improve our understanding of other cultures by examining how cultural values affect this behavior.
To analyze from a development perspective to the USA, we can base ourselves on The Hofstede Model , in which according to the previous knowledge we have of this country, we have the following indexes:
PDI: Power Distance Index
IDV: Individualism Versus Collectivism
MAS: Masculinity Versus Femininity
UAI: Uncertainty Avoidance Index
LTO: Long Term Orientation Versus Short Term Orientation
IND: Indulgence Versus Restraint
We obtained this information from the following website: https://www.hofstede-insights.com/product/compare-countries/
Now we make the comparison of Colombia (Azul) vs USA (purple)

Linear Active and Multi-Active Cultures - USA
United States is the third country with the largest population in the world (325.318.000), this makes it possible to find different behaviors in the people who live here. In some tv's shows, we can watch that there are rude people, those people do not respect when another is talking or giving their opinion. They are truthful rather than diplomatic and do not fear confrontation, sticking to logic rather than emotions. Status is gained through achievement, bosses are often low key, money is important. Rationalism and science dominate their thinking more than religion. This is because in the USA you can see a Linear active culture. As a last aspect to be highlighted, we have the example of some series in which the characters are seen being direct when speaking, but at the same time being educated, presenting logic in the arguments they express. Below we can see a categorization of the countries according to the Lewis model, we can see the USA in the Linear active category:
